History of Venice Beach California
Venice is a district in west Los Angeles, California, USA. Venice is made in 1905 from tobacco – millionaire Abot Kinney, as a sea resort of a west 22,4 kilometer from Los Angeles. Venice Beach has a 3 mile beach, but tourists go there to shop and stare. During the summer there’s street entertainment everywhere, including musicians, singers, jugglers, acrobats, mimes, comics, magicians, and fortune tellers.
Venice Beach, California is a desired destination for travelers from all over the world. It is unlike any place on Earth, well known for its artists, street performers and funky atmosphere. It is a virtual carnival running year round with free admission.
The Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Department declined to renew the Kinney Pier lease in 1946. The city widened the beaches and removed the piers. Venice plunged into decay; ocean front and historic buildings were demolished. During this time, the Beatles generation found a home in Venice, and flower children of the 60’s flocked to the beach during their “summer of love”.
